Reviewing Amazon's Brand Referral Bonus Program: November 2021


Amazon announced their Customer Service by Amazon (CSBA) program on November 16, 2021. 

Brand Referral Bonus Program

The Brand Referral Bonus Program rewards Brands and Sellers who drive outside traffic (meaning non-Amazon traffic) to directly. Because customers trust purchasing products off of Amazon, driving traffic to your Amazon products can help increase conversion and boost sales.

For many brands, it’s possible you are already running a campaign to drive traffic directly to your Amazon PDP, and if you enroll in the Brand Referral Bonus program, you can start earning a 10% bonus off each sale. Read more to find out how to enroll today.

To start earning your bonus, follow these steps:

  1. Enroll in the program
  2. Generate “Amazon Attribution Tags”:
  • These are tags created with the Amazon Attribution page, and are used to measure the non-Amazon traffic you’re bringing to your Amazon PDPs.
  • Amazon measures the following impacts:
    • Clicks
    • Detail Page Views
    • Add-to-Carts
    • Purchases
    • Sales
    • New-to-Brand
  1. Add the Tag to a Campaign. For full details, see the help guide. Amazon also provided a video that explains the Amazon Attribution tool in depth.
  2. Once you have added tags to your campaign, you will start to see your earnings from the 10% bonus from each applicable sale.

What are the requirements?

According to Amazon:

The bonus applies to brand-owned products with an Amazon Attribution tag that originates from a non-Amazon marketing effort. This includes promoted products and additional products purchased from your brand up to 14 days after clicking on the ad.”

We recommend enrolling in the program, especially if you are already driving outside traffic to your Amazon’s PDPs. The 10% sales bonus will help you gain back some of your profit margin on applicable sales.
